Cuco's 2024 tour stop at Houston's White Oak Music Hall on September 27th was a perfect match for the venue’s outdoor lawn space. As one of the biggest names in indie-pop, the anticipation was high, and Cuco delivered. His entrance—preceded by his bassist waving a Mexican flag—immediately struck a chord with the crowd. Opening with Ego Death in Thailand before launching into the energetic Junkies and Rarities, he had everyone on their feet, passionately affirming his love for Houston early in the set.
Throughout the night, Cuco maintained a strong connection with his audience. The familiar synth tones of Summer Time High Time had fans pulling out their phones, eager to capture the moment while singing along. Cuco showed his attentiveness by stopping the show multiple times to ensure the safety of fans overwhelmed by the heat, demonstrating a genuine concern that elevated the night beyond a mere concert.
With psychedelic visuals matching his eclectic mix of chilled-out and high-energy tracks, the overall vibe was a relaxed but dynamic one. Fans swayed during slower moments and jumped to more upbeat ones, feeding off Cuco’s casual charm. Ending the night with his iconic Lo Que Siento, the audience left feeling fulfilled; their bond with the artist unmistakably deepened.
