On a warm April night, one of indie rock’s defining voices makes an appearance at White Oak Music Hall. Snail Mail, the project of Lindsey Jordan, has been active for over a decade, and Jordan has returned with new material, the 2026 release Ricochet. The Baltimore native remains a vital presence in indie circles and a personal favorite, with albums like Lush and Valentine. Across these releases, her sound has evolved from sharp, moody restraint into something more introspective and openly vulnerable.
The set pulled from across her catalog, Lush; Valentine; newer material from Ricochet; and even the Habit EP. Highlights included newer tracks like Cruise and My Maker, balanced with crowd favorites such as Glory. Personally, nothing matched hearing Speaking Terms live; it immediately brought back a specific moment in my life, and I’m grateful every time I get to experience it in person.
Even without being a complete sellout, the room felt engaged. The crowd was lively and responsive, feeding off Jordan’s performance and giving that energy right back. There was a clear sense of connection between artist and audience that elevated the entire set.
All in all, it was a strong performance. It’s always a pleasure to watch Snail Mail continue to grow and refine her sound, and I’m already looking forward to the next time she comes through.
