The House of Blues was transformed into a pop-rock lover’s dream as American singer-songwriter Maggie Lindemann electrified the stage. This sold out show was the 14th stop on her SUCKERPUNCH World Tour and the concert truly held up to its name. Many may know the singer from her pop-princess music that occupies the start of her discography such as her 2017 hit Pretty Girl.
In recent years, Maggie’s shift to a darker aesthetic and tone has been met with heavy praise as her influences of pop, punk, and rock electrified the stage that night. With the fans headbanging and jumping around the pit in their best Demonias, the floor was shaking from the energy in the room. Needless to say, the night was one of rock and liveness.
Kailee Morgue opened the night with songs such as Falling from the Sky, Alright Ok and End of My Life, setting an invigorating tone for the night. The crowd enjoyed the performance as they prepped for the headliner, Maggie Lindemann. intro / welcome in brought excitement over the crowd as Lindemann entered the stage. Her all-black dress and sleek black hair graced the stage, capturing the look and feel of her most recent album SUCKERPUNCH perfectly. She played tracks from the album as well as a couple from her 2021 album PARANOIA.
The sounds of the electric guitar filled the venue for songs such as girl next door and novocaine as the singer jumped along with her fans. The audience did not disappoint as they seemed to be having the time of their life dancing to how could you do this to me? which featured artist Kellin Quinn.
My personal favorites from the night were self-sabotage and closing song she knows it. The song closed the night out perfectly, leaving fans hopeful for an encore even as the house lights began to flicker on. Post-show, naturally, I have been influenced to break out the old platforms again!
