Junk Rock EP by JunkBunny

By: Adrienne Rodriguez

The band JunkBunny has paved their way into the music industry, playing shows around Houston and even opening for known rockstar legends such as Jon Bon Jovi and ZZ Top. Their music captures the essence of pure rock and roll and funk that anyone can vibe to. As they debuted their first EP “Junk Rock” this year, they have proved to be more than your average teenage boys.

The first song on the EP is called ‘Take You Home (Groove Buster)”, which the title should explain itself. A definite mood booster, it sets the tone for the rest of the EP as a headbanging phenomenon. As the drum and guitar starts rocking out, you can’t help but to start smiling and saying to yourself “this is really good and they haven’t even said a word yet.” Once the vocals set in you feel like you traveled back in time to the 2000s rock scene feeling nostalgic with a hint of bittersweet. Putting this song as the first was a good move and it tells the listener to get ready because it only gets better from here.

Next we have the band’s debut single, “Sedona”, which captures a light country rhythm before turning into a rock classic. The vocals consist of Mac Johnson and Cayden Diebold that will give you a real mixture of Green Day and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, but they’ve made it all their own.

They end it off with a sweet melody of smooth vocals and heavy instrument playing with “This Time” and “The Difference”. The combination is nothing but perfection to chill on a sunny day or party with a big crowd. They’ve made music that anyone can agree it’s something worth listening to. I’ve listened to this EP in my car, with my friends, and even with headphones while working out and I can’t help but to admit that each time you find yourself discovering a new appreciation for the song.

Their passion for music is showcased brilliantly throughout the entire EP. These guys prove that they are extremely talented and well deserving of the spotlight that they will soon be under. If you’ve never heard of JunkBunny, do yourself a favor and start listening to them right now!
